Brief Overview: The Bachelor of Science degrees in the Anheuser-Busch School of Business are designed to educate students in the art and science of business. The School of Business currently offers baccalaureate degree programs and emphases in many disciplines. These programs prepare graduates to become tomorrow’s business leaders by equipping them with the ability to identify, analyze and solve complex business problems.
Department of Accounting

Overview: The mission of the accounting program is to provide a well-balanced educational program that will prepare students to enter the field of accounting and/or continue their education at the master’s level to qualify for the CPA exam.
The ability to understand and manage budgets is an indispensable item in your tool kit for any business or management career. Whether your goal is to be the chief financial officer of a major corporation or to operate an accounting business out of your home, or anything in between, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Harris-Stowe State University is a great place to start.
Curriculum: The Accounting Interdisciplinary core requirements is combined with general education and business administration core courses to address knowledge and skills related to business, economics and management in order to provide graduates with a sound business base.
Department of Finance
Overview: The mission of the B.S. Degree in Finance is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and ability to manage money, deal with investments, and assess risk and return in order to maximize corporate profits.
Curriculum: Students will learn how to manage the assets of businesses, institutions, and individuals. Students will learn market analysis, the making of sound investments and how to track the flow of money. The B.S. Degree in Finance prepares the students for many careers available in the field of Finance, including financial advisor, investment banker, financial planner, credit analyst and loan officer, both in government and in the private sector. In addition, the B.S. Degree in Finance prepares students to pursue higher levels of education.

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration:
The Business Administration degree program is primarily designed to provide students with a solid and well-rounded education in business that prepares them to meet the challenges of a dynamic work force and for an advanced degree. The program has three emphasis areas: management, entrepreneurship and marketing.
Overview: The mission of the Business Administration degree program with an entrepreneurship emphasis is to provide a quality educational program and experience to students interested in owning and managing their own business.
Curriculum: The program strives to prepare individuals with a rich curriculum in entrepreneurship coupled with required general education and business foundation core courses.
Overview: The Business Administration with an emphasis in Management provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective managers in organizations. The courses in this program emphasize the complex nature of organizations and the skills and knowledge necessary to manage human resources, design effective organizational systems and diagnose and solve organizational problems. In addition, the program emphasizes the increasingly global nature of business and coping with change in the internal and external environments.
Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to prepare students for the challenges of modern management by providing an overall understanding of the basic functions of management as well as appropriate skills and problem-solving methods. The program introduces students to the complexities of organizational variables such as human resources and materials or physical facilities and provides the student with appropriate frameworks for examining various institutions and the external environment in which these units operate. In developing an understanding of the interrelationships between the various management functions and the environment, emphasis is placed upon analytical problem solving, establishing strategies and policies, human relations and general management principles.
Overview: The Business Administration program with an emphasis in Marketing provides students with the scope and nature of marketing functions, business organizations and analysis of environmental factors influencing marketing decisions with regard to types of markets and marketing opportunities. Also, this program provides students with managerial functions and the process used to plan, execute and control marketing actions. Lastly, we prepare students for a career in Marketing, both in government and in the private sector.
Curriculum: Whether your career interests are local or international, the curriculum is designed to provide a solid base of knowledge, management expertise and personal skills necessary for success and professional advancement in the marketing field.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration – Accelerated Program:
Overview: This Adult Pathway to Success program is designed to provide a unique opportunity for adults with a minimum of four years of business experience to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration while working full time during the day. The program can be completed in as little as 18 months for students who have completed an Associate of Arts degree that meet the Missouri State General Education requirements or completed 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university that can be applied toward Harris-Stowe State University requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
The program requires a formal application and approval of the Dean of the Anheuser-Busch School of Business.
Curriculum: The program strives to prepare individuals with a rich curriculum in required general education and Business Administration core curriculum and elective courses selected by students based on their career goals.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Hospitality and Tourism Management:
Overview: The mission of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program is to provide a quality well-rounded education for students entering management positions in the hospitality and tourism industry. The program provides an avenue for students to enter the field of hospitality and tourism management and to promote the diversification goals of the industry.
Curriculum: The program strives to prepare individuals with a rich curriculum in Hospitality and Tourism Management coupled with required general education and business foundation core courses.
Department of Health Care Management

Overview: The mission of the Health Care Management program is to provide a quality education to students planning to assume an entry or mid-level management position in a variety of health care settings in both the national and international arena. Career opportunities include hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical equipment corporations, managed care organizations, physician group practices, home care centers, long-term care facilities, public health institutions, hospices, health insurance firms, ambulatory care clinics, or consulting companies. The program combines a professional curriculum with other academic disciplines, such as management, marketing, information systems, economics, accounting, and finance.
Curriculum: The HCM program is designed to prepare students to become managers in any one of a number of different types of health care environments, both public and private, and international. The program offers a number of courses both in class and online in various aspects of health care management, including health care organizations, health care law and ethics, health care planning and marketing, international health care management, and financial management of health care institutions. HCM seniors also serve an internship at a local health care institution. HCM graduates are prepared to sign on to entry-level management positions in health care institutions and or continue their studies in graduate school.

Overview: The purpose of this program is to develop technical and analytical skills including business analysis, systems analysis and hands-on experience creating cutting edge Web and software applications. Students will also be taught the fundamentals of database management and how to organize and access information. Our top students have a successful track record of securing jobs in some of the area's leading companies such as Anheuser-Busch, Monsanto and Boeing.
Computer Studies Emphasis:
Overview: The mission of the computer studies emphasis is to provide a well-balanced program that will prepare the students to enter the field of information sciences and computer technology. This program is designed to prepare students to become technically and analytically competent in Information Technology. The program's focus is on analyzing business requirements and designing and implementing Web and or windows software applications. Today's businesses are looking for people who have a strong analytical background and who are proficient in technology. This program will prepare students to help businesses automate manual processes as well as expand their reach through Web-based technology. Students who graduate from this program will be prepared to compete for the role of System Analyst, Software Developer, Web Developer and DBA.
Curriculum: The curriculum includes a general education core, a business administration core, and an information sciences and computer technology major core, with an area of concentration in computer studies.
Management Information Systems Emphasis:
Overview: The Management Information Systems (MIS) emphasis prepares students for a leading role in this rapidly growing field of study. The MIS emphasis gives students an understanding of importance of information systems as a management tool in the planning, control, and decision-making activities of the organization. The program of study introduces students to the concepts and methods of analyzing, designing, planning, and managing simple or complex information systems. It emphasizes the managerial aspects of the information systems by providing a solid base of business courses and information system courses common to the Anheuser-Busch School of Business.
Curriculum: The curriculum includes a general education core, a business administration core, and an information sciences and computer technology major core, with an emphasis in management information systems.
