Taevin Lewis, SGA President
Taevin Symone Lewis is a junior from Memphis (born in Greenwood, MS), majoring in Biology/Pre-Medicine. She recently completed an internship with Missouri State Representative Joshua Peters of District 076. At Harris-Stowe, Taevin has held the positions of Miss Freshman, Recording Secretary of Student Government Association’s Executive Board, Secretary of HSSU’s Honeycomb majorettes, as well as Vice-President of SGA for the 2015-2016 academic year. In the fall of 2015, Taevin was selected as HSSU’s first student ambassador for the White House Initiative on HBCUs for the sustainability and promotion of black excellence. She currently has a 3.5 GPA and was one of three students selected from HSSU to enroll in Saint Louis University's Medical School Internship Program. Her future plans include graduating Magna Cum Laude from the illustrious Harris-Stowe State University and pursuing a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University. Her goals include becoming a Child Life/Recreation Therapist at the world renowned St. Jude or Ranken Hospitals. She would also like to be an NFL or NBA cheerleader, launch an advertisement modeling career, pursue the title of Miss America, as well as become a prominent Activist for Afro-American political and social progression and unity. Taevin’s favorite phrases are: “Be a product of your decisions, not your environment,” and “What’s on the table is never as important as who is around it.”
Jazmine Bonner, SGA Vice-President
Jazmine Bonner is a senior from St. Louis, MO, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. In the spring of 2016, Jazmine was a mentee in the elite Regional Business Council where she worked closely with St. Louis American Executive Editor and Publisher Dr. Donald Suggs. Along with 22 other intelligent young women, she successfully chartered the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. – Harris-Stowe State University Section on campus and is currently serving her second term as the organization’s president. Jazmine is an active member of the National Society of Leadership & Success, American Marketing Association, and a second-year member of Students Working Against Trauma (SWAT). Her future plans include attending a prominent law school where she intends to earn Juris Doctorate and Master in Business Administration degrees. Her ultimate goal is to work as a corporate attorney.
Iana Newton, SGA Treasurer
Iana is a sophomore from Kansas City, MO, majoring in Urban Affairs. This is Iana’s first term as Treasure of SGA. Previously, Iana served as President of the Residential Hall Association. She is currently President of the Food Council.
Christian Neil, Senior Class President
Christian is a senior from St Louis, MO, majoring in Educational Studies. The 2010 graduate of Riverview Gardens Sr. High School is an active student volunteer with Students Working Against Trauma. She previously served on the Campus Activity Board and was a Harris-Stowe cheerleader. Her future plans include obtaining a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and opening a youth facility in St. Louis.
Jaemica Logan, Junior Class President
Jaemica is a junior from St. Louis, MO, majoring in Educational Studies with a minor in Psychology. The former “Miss Sophomore 2014-2015” is proud to represent the Junior Class as President. She has been a member of The Honeycombs Majorette Dance Team, as well as a Student Ambassador, since her freshman year. Jaemica is also a peer educator for Students Working Against Trauma and a member of the photography club. She formerly served as a Residential Assistant.
