Carla Lee, Director of Academic Advisement
Carla has worked for the university since January 1999. She began her employment as an academic advisor and currently serves as director of academic advisement. She has more than 16 years of experience in higher education and is committed to serving the needs of HSSU students. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association. Jason Traber, Senior Academic Advisor
Jason has worked for the university since May 2001. He obtained a B.A. in Physical Education with a Sport Management emphasis and a minor in History from Lindenwood University in May 2000. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Saint Louis University in December 2012. He advises students who are majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Management, Information Sciences and Computer Technology and Hospitality and Tourism Management. Elizabeth Speckman, Academic Advisor
Elizabeth has worked for the university since December 2006. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a minor in Marketing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in December 2005. She advises students who are majoring in or seeking initial certification in either Early Childhood or Elementary Education, as well as those majoring in Educational Studies. Tiffini Rushing, Academic Advisor
Tiffini has worked for the university since March 2007. She obtained a B.S. in Speech Communications from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in December 2001. She earned a Master of Business Administration from
Brittany Holmes, Academic Advisor
Brittany has worked for the university since June 2010. She obtained an A.A. in Communication from Lincoln Land Community College in May 2007 and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Illinois at Springfield in December 2008. She earned her Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2010. She assists students who are majoring in Biology, Mathematics, Middle or Secondary Education or students seeking initial certification in either Middle or Secondary Education. Jyhardis has worked for the university for over 20 years. She began her employment in the Office of Academic Advisement and later worked in the Office of Admissions. She was transfered back to the advising office in May 2002. She has seen the university evolve to what it is today and looks forward to continuing to assist students.
