Student Activities

Annual Campus Events
The Office of Student Activities (OSA) assists the major organizations in planning their annual campus events. These events are designed to bring the Harris-Stowe community together. Some examples include the following: Welcome Week, the HSSU Homecoming, Black History Month Celebration, MLK and Spring Fest.

In the month of August, the OSA coordinates  a series of informational sessions for incoming students and their parents. Orientation gives students and their families better insight into what HSSU has to offer.

Community Service
Opportunities for community service are available through an array of avenues. The Office of Career Services provides opportunities for students interested in building leadership skills through community service involvement. Please contact Miranda Saddler, Interim Assistant Director of Student Activities, GRH-Room 110A at (314) 340-5042.

Activities Information
Information on campus events can also be found online. Click on “Calendar of Events.”

Leadership Opportunities
Students are encouraged to join any of the more than 40 clubs at HSSU. The OSA works with student groups to offer hands-on training and mentoring opportunities. We also coordinate leadership workshops and the annual all-campus leadership retreat for student clubs and organizations held in September.

Student Organization & Activities Resources
The OSA has an extensive library to aid students and organizations in their growth and development. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these resources. Topics include the following: fundraising ideas, organization development and management and programming guides.
