The Academy for University Preparation has been in operation at Harris-Stowe State University since 1987. Hundreds of St. Louis area college bound students have benefited from the services provided by the program. The academy is designed to assist students with their transition from one level of learning to a higher level of learning. Students participate in a variety of educational activities including intensive and individualized classes in Mathematics and Communication Arts. In addition, students engage in group discussions and explore the areas of career development, financial aid for college and orientation to college expectations and services. The academy offers academic and personal enrichment focused upon students' educational and career options.
