1. Complete your FAFSA. Each academic year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be updated using the tax information from the previous year. HSSU's school code (002466) should also be included. Further details can be reviewed here.
2. Check your Hornet Email for Verification. Every Tuesday, our office will email each student whose FAFSA is on file to let them know what documents our office needs before we can award them. Links in the email will direct you accordingly.
3. Complete the required documents. Once you have submitted the required forms to the Office of Financial Assistance, your information will be reviewed. If additional documents are needed, you'll receive a follow-up email; if no other documents are needed, your financial aid award will be applied.
4. Check your Hornet Email for Award Notification. Once your aid has been awarded, you will receive an email instructing you to review your Course & Fee Statement. For details of the aid sources available at HSSU, click here.
