Dr. Veola Martin: Interim Dean of the College of Education
Originally founded as a Teacher Education institution, Harris-Stowe State University has more than 150 years experience of preparing students to instruct in the classroom. Students receive a well-rounded educational experience that prepares them to become highly competent and effective teachers. The nationally accredited HSSU College of Education offers degree programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle School Education and Secondary Education. After completing the required course work and earning a passing score in the appropriate educational area on the state-mandated PRAXIS exam, students receive a Bachelor of Science Degree and a certificate to teach in the state of Missouri.
