The Faith in Education at Harris-Stowe State University Consortium was initiated by Reverend B.T. Rice in collaboration with Harris-Stowe State University to help reinvigorate and advance the role Black Churches have in uplifting our HBCUs and empowering young minds through education.
The first meeting of the Faith in Education Consortium will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, on the campus of Harris-Stowe State University. During this lunch meeting, we will hear from university representatives, student scholarship recipients, and share our ideas to collaborate on ways our community of faith can further impact and advance the lives of our African-American scholars.
Following this initial discussion, a steering committee will convene to help establish the best direction for this Consortium. Engagement activities for the Faith in Education Consortium may include: Faith Nights at Harris-Stowe State University sporting events; performances by the Harris-Stowe State University Gospel Choir at our individual churches; speaking opportunities for Harris-Stowe leadership at our individual churches; other opportunities to be decided.
